Rating: PG13 with a very mild R in the 4th chapter
Summary: Loving Buffy is never a stable environment as Spike has learned since her return from heaven. All he’s done is to try to help and all it’s achieved is to make things worse. So what might actually help this broken Slayer?
Setting: S6 all canon through “Dead Things” then it goes AU to varying degrees after Chapter 1.

HI all! My back has been out so I've not be anywhere in cyber-world in a couple of weeks. Low and behold I get a chance to sit for a short while with couple of minutes to spare and can't find LJ. Anyone know what's up with the site?? I checked here and it http://status.livejournal.org/
says no problems with the site but clearly there is.
Naturally, like sex, just when one partner is ready to go the other has problems! Ahhhhhh aging LOL.

Course he’d forgive her. It was magic after all. He’d need to bleach his eyes to get the image of them cavortin’ in the air out of his mind.
Buffy‘d gone as daft as Dru soon as the glow hit her. Didn’t matter the bastard killed hundreds of her girls, set her up for mayhem and death.
Leave it to Angel using a lame name like Twilight! Probably thought he shined like that wanna-be too. Must’ve thought Buffy was Bella too.
Too bad for the poof; the magic eventually ended and Buffy remembered who was really in her heart.

Today was bloody well NOT a ‘good day to die’ determined Spike. Point of fact such a day was unlikely to exist for at least another century or two; AND the means wouldn’t be at the end of a sucking bad year led by a scatter-wit with delusions of grandeur flying about on a dragon like some lunatic.
Charlie was looking peaked but it wasn’t going to be his day either if Spike had anything to do with it.
Besides, there was a Slayer to hunt down, grovel before, love. Let them do their worst, Spike had places to be!

Summary: When facing eternity, a good mother will try to put all her affairs in order. That means getting real, seeing clearly and putting your own heart’s desires on hold, your dreams in perspective, letting your brain control your advice. Now if only those you love will just cooperate! Joyce looks to her daughter’s future as her own mortality becomes an issue and comes to some startling conclusions. Can Joyce convince Buffy to forget all that she has been telling her, all that everyone has been telling her, thereby easing Joyce’s own worries before facing the hospital and possible death?
Setting: S5 and begins to go AU at the end of “Fool For Love” (written by Douglas Petrie). I am using bits of dialogue from that episode in the beginning of the story before it goes a very different direction.
A/N: Elizabeth Kübler-Ross identified a grief cycle (her initial number of stages was five) that occurs when people deal with death or grieving. The current feeling is that there are more like seven stages, hence my title. Those stages encompass: Shock and denial, pain and guilt, anger and bargaining, depression and loneliness (or a period of reflection realizing the full impact of the loss), an upward turn of adjustment, reconstruction of life with the change, and finally acceptance and hope.
This season’s theme was “head vs. heart”. Oft times what appears logical and right to any sane person--your heart’s desire, as it were--is not the correct choice after all, not when facing your own exit.
